Gravity

  1. The equations describing the gravitational field are isomorphic to those describing the electric field with the following substitutions:

    • (1 / (4 π ε)) → - G
    • q → m

    (G = 6.674 * 10-11 N m2 / kg2)

  2. The surface gravity of a body is
    g = G M / R2,
    where M is its mass and R is its radius.

    The escape velocity V of a body is determined by

    m V2 / 2 = G m M / R.
